Hey everybody. Just a quick post to let people know what new Gospel and Christian accompaniment tracks we are working on this week at Ascension Tracks. I just started on the Tasha Cobbs Leonard song “The Church I grew Up In” . I am more than halfway through with the classic Wintley Phipps song “What Color Is Love “ Another great song and the first one I have done so far from Mervin Mayo , “God Did It” . I am also halfway through the live version of The Sunday Service Choir’s “Lord Your Holy Ballin”. And lastly I am also about a third of the way through with “Now Is The Time” by Reeds Temple Choir
Each of these songs is different and present their own unique challenges to re-creating it. With a song like “God Did It” the musical aspect is pretty simple but as it is a modern synth – driven song the challenge is finding the right sounds to use. With a song like”Now Is The Time” you can hear and identify what the instruments are and they are easy enough to call up. The challenge is that some of the parts are so funky and syncopated.
